FASHION INDUSTRY
About us

about

long road ahead
or already there?

Up until a few years ago, the fashion industry was dominated by caucasian, six foot, size zero models. Flash forward to 2018 and brands are continuing to become aware of their diverse range of customers, and how this diversity should be reflected in the fashion industry. However, has the fashion industry in fact embraced model diversity, or does this billion dollar industry still have a long way to go? Find out now!

RESEARCH METHOD
research method

In 2015 I researched the amount of model diversity in the fashion industry and collected primary data, by analyzing the amount of non-caucasian models in three well-known magazines; Vogue, Harper's Bazaar, and Instyle.

For the purpose of this research project, I conducted the same analysis on a sociocultural artifact level. By still having the research from 2015, I was able to compare these results with the new results found through the study of magazines.
